pennington market

The former Pennington Quality Market

Currently, 12 North Main Street. The entrance appears to have been changed. The Market first opened on Main Street in 1930.

"During the time, when the Main Street and West Delaware Avenue corner was acquiring a new look, Main Street's business section was undergoing other changes. The Pennington Quality Market, the successor of Weart's Store which had begun operating 30 years earlier and later was purchased by John McVeigh, moved to its new location on West Delaware Avenue and Route 69. With its opening, the spacious super market became the first in Hopewell Valley. Route 69 later became State Route 31." (Pennington Profile)
